STONE STRUCTURES.
For over forty years now I have been wandering the hills and valleys of Northern England and Scotland and I have always had an interest in the landscape and the structures within that landscape. I have been recording these structures as I wander along usually photographically but occasionally with measured drawings etc.
This interest in these structures has led to my research into these structures and features and then on in some cases to the publications I have done.
The Range of these structures is just about unlimited ranging from prehistoric stone circles and burial cairns through the Roman period, the medieval period and on into the modern era, with all its industrial features, and modern structures are still being put up in these areas.
I hope over time to show examples of all the things I have looked at over these last forty years and hopefully my new discoveries as my wanderings continue. This is a work in progress please check regularly for updates and if a site you would like more details on does not appear please enquire I may have information not yet put on the site.
